[ESTIM] Can you play unsynchronized dual channel webtease?

Post by verynicekojak »

Hi estim fans,

I'm working on a estim webtease. I have dual channel device. I tested that it is possible to have separate mp3 files for left and right channel. I mean both files are stereo, but only one channel is used in each. This allows to create huge amount of stimming combinations. But I don't know if that will work for everyone.

I know that some people here have tri-phase devices. My mp3 files are played at once, but I'm sure that synchronization is not perfect, so there will be small random delay between channels. For dual channels it doesn't matter, you can not feel the difference. But for tri-phase it maybe matters. Does it?

So my question is: Can you play dual channel webteases on your device, with consistent effect, despite small inconsistent delays between channels?

If you don't know, you can test it here:

You can generate random tests but they should feel the same. If they doesn't and different tests feel completely differently then it probably means that you can not play webteases with separate not synchronized dual channels.

Maybe there are some people who have devices that are only tri-phase, I'm not sure. But the toys I know of are dual-channel, that can optionally be configured in a tri-phase way. I believe most people should be able to use dual channel and are not forced to wire up triphase.

Triphase is just way of wiring dual-channel estim devices where we connect one wire of both left and right channel to same electrode. Only prerequisite is that channels of our device are fully isolated (so connecting the wires cannot cause shorts etc).

You can simply state that tease is intended for dual-channel setup and not worry about it.

Triphase is used because of stroking sensations that are achieved when signals have almost identical frequency (the channels differ only by current phase of the same waveform). As you will be playing 2 files from javascript, just stick to dual channel since trying to perfectly synchronize them for triphase defeats the point of having different l/r files and it should be done by using stereo files.

Yes, like others have said just wire up using the two channels separately. If wired in triphase the delay in between the signals of two files will create the sensation of movement if the frequencies are different between files. If the files are the same frequency and the phases are offset then one of three electrodes could feel stronger than the other ones. Nothing dangerous would happen, might be a little uncomfortable depending on the specific delay. It's easy to suggest wiring up with each channel to whichever locations and say "triphase is not recommended" for the tease and people can follow the suggestion. There are other dual channel teases, so this isn't an uncommon suggestion/request to wire up that way.

dual channel yes, but I don't know how the pc behaves having to manage two stereo signals with only one channel each that reproduces. If the signal comes out correctly from the pc, there are no problems for reproduction by any DIY box

I am guessing he just plays 2 files at almost same time, one has sound only on left channel and silence on right, and other has sound on right channel and silence on left.

I expect that they will simply be mixed and both play at same time from their channels.

If possible, would be great to have handfree option...for people who don't want control on their session !!!

Completely off topic, but who is that in the pic on the DualChannelTest? I'm assuming its Little Caprice, but can't find any source.

Nevermind, found it: (Delete if not allowed)

Best news I've heard in ages! New estim teases are always welcome!

I have a 3rdh, I see no reason why your files wouldn't work having looked at them in Audacity, but I'll test them when I get time to wire things up in the next couple of days.

I looked at the files on Audacity. It's a clean mono signal on each channel.
