on the topic of "is it a grind?". I've found that teases on this site fit into 4 categories (in order of complexity):
  • slide show
    • Girlfriend series
    • MTF
    • Accidental Cuck
  • CYOA
    • Evil Step Mommy
    • Spy E.D.G.E
    • Mazes
  • Shopping Mall
    • Hero Corruption
    • Cursed Ascent
    • Pornstemon
  • Game
    • faptris
    • snakes and ladders
    • fapjack
A Slide show is just that. You get a precompiled list of images and maybe some text thrown in with instructions. you go from point A to point B with no decisions or bad ends. There is no grind

A CYOA is a branching slideshow that generally has no RNG elements. you can generally hit all of the paths through replay. the bad ends you see are part of the story, not bars from continuing. there is grind but it's as simple as pathing a tree. It's all there, you just need to map it.

A Game is something that has a real world analog that would be considered "a game". Faptris and Fapjack appear to be slideshows but your progression through them requires skill/luck. a single playthrough could be considered grind

A Shopping Mall is a list, or list of lists, of 'encounters'. They play like CYOA but there is a lot more RNG involved on whether you see content or not. You could literally see Laura every time you explore the Forest, cept for the boss fight in the evening, the RNG supports it. Same with Cursed Ascent, you could play it 100 times and never see The Nurse. There is something like grind, but it's more frustrating because you have no control over it. What prevents me from classifying them as games is that no amount of skill from me determines my ability to get to a good end (seeing the porn I want). Additionally, no amount of skill from me determines if i get a bad roll and end up a slave to the nuns because they catch me at zero gold and zero corruption but they still need to cleanse me for some reason.

Do you need to play the game "optimally" several times to "win"? That depends on your definition of victory.
  • Things you can accomplish on your first play through regardless of RNG:
    1. Unlock the blacksmith for future runs
    2. beat both level 1 bosses
    3. make it to day 15
  • Things you can accomplish on your first play through with the help of RNG:
    1. make Ivy challenging on future runs
    2. beat all the other bosses
    3. beat the castle
I don't think the save game hash would work from version to version because every version has it's own set of variables. there's always a new girl being added to the mix. effort values for buying stats between games has changed a couple times already, there's no guarantee they won't change again. Also, the new girl in the castle this run appears to be immune to stat building (unless you just have 500 attack power). Once you get 'caught' the struggle rolls are too difficult after also fighting Sigrid and Chloe.

I'm suggesting only 3 (well 4 actually) values to be hashed:
max hp
max lust
attack
player id

All of them are integer numbers, there won't be any problem to store them between versions.

There might be more values, all of them can be represented by 1 json, but that's not really necessary as I think

making it a json would make it plain text and easy to 'cheat'. a hash would be something like "1h5j3l0d" where your 4 variables would be bitwise encrypted into a string

I keep playing each version and starting over with each new update, it's a good game and I'm committed to getting to the castle one day and finding all the stuff I haven't discovered yet. keep up the good work.

powerful bonus start, something buffer than the gurl one, that would be a tremendous incentive to keep replaying from the start

First of all, sorry for the late reply and thanks for the compliment, @Edgemycock (lol)

I believe the real problem is something else, as this discussion is only happening because of the frequency which new versions are published and the inability to load saves between versions. Every month players are forced to face the same enemies over and over again in order to gain access to new content.

I'm really not a fan of nerfing the initial enemies, artificially increasing the Hero's power or rewarding possible suicide runs. These changes would create other issues, but I guess this is kind of "pick your poison" situation.

To be honest, the idea I sympathize with the most is @makovoc's, but I still fear for the content that will be added before the late-game, these girls will be DESTROYED by saves from previous versions

Anyway, this is NOT my final word, there is a lot to think and talk about this topic

There are no "perfect" solutions and it is true some of this would have side effects. However, I guarantee there are ways to execute any of these options that would leave a superior play experience to what is currently offered regardless of how often you update the game.

I feel like in the past you have taken our suggestions to the extreme to be wary of them. My suggestion rewards exploration of as many endings as you can see. A "suicide run" with one girl is only one ending seen and would not give the bonus for doing it again in my suggestion. Without such a reward, these endings are virtually avoided entirely and given to those who are not doing well and are punished for getting so few points.

The current game HEAVILY punishes early losses and HEAVILY rewards full clears. The removal of much of the corruption penalty will help as you agreed to but anything else to bring these two a bit closer to the center would help many of the currently perceived grind concerns. You don't have to swing it the other way entirely.

I'm excited to see what you come up with and I am available to discuss how I can help if you are interested.

Now that you mention it, I think this is a big part of the (perceived) problem. With 3 or 4 new pieces of content a patch, I'm no doubt reacting to the repetition to unlock new things. If I were to play the game for the first time, I probably wouldn't feel the grind as much.

I'm not sure what is happening and I suspect a bug.

I bought and played the Hills map before buying the Swamp map.

In the hills, I found Alice and Sara. And now they are in the Swamp too. My Codex has both in both 'Enemies'.

Also, Sophie isn't showing in my Codex at all.

Please let me know if you need more info or if this is just an anomaly since no one else is reporting this.
Also, I'm not sure, but I have seen Day 13, 25:00 as a time. I can't remember how I managed to play one day for so long, but it was amusing to see :-) I'm guessing I went the City at 21:00 and was forced back (4 hour round trip).

I think I've run into two minor bugs:

If Lisa dominates you the sound effect keeps going after the battle is over. I plays through other encounters as well, but I got it to stop by challenging one of the bosses. I think triggering a different sound overrides it maybe and turns it back to normal

Mia seems to not do any Lust damage with Blowjobs

Hey taneka, the Hills is not fully populated with new girls yet, so you're likely to find Alice, Sarah and Candy hanging out there.
As for Sophie, bosses only appear in the codex in the run in which they are defeated

I’ve been following this tease since it first started and have loved all the updates the models and stories are really hot and is my personal favorite tease here.
I know not everyone would be interested but would it be possible for you to add a foot addiction similar to the breasts or cream pie one for my feet lovers :) if not that’s ok still an amazing tease hope you continue making more. PS: I lost to the new girl on purpose it was just too hot

Good additions again!

About that replayability, yeah, at this point even positive feedback is getting little grindy ... :-)

Loved the new girls, both seemed to have plenty of moving parts;

at Jasmine I wasn't really sure what was combat-relevant, after two runs to her (one win); I'm assuming only one of the actions was actually important.

An idea for Lessening the grind: give a code at the end of a version that will unlock a buff in the next one. (Day 15 screen, or castle win) Sure, it'll be shared, but also limit it to just the First run*. Nothing major, something like +3 ATT. Just so it isn't really all that, but allows for some leeway on the first run. I'd say offer it at the inn, instead of the Portrait - "Hi, we're hiring security, you interested? Got any references? <code> Here, take this Baton +3." But that's at day 3 then. Dunno.
*First run, as in every time after a DELETE, of course. Not sure how well your code would support that, but if it does, maybe.



Couple bugs I ran across, recorded over a few days, with a version started a week ago (in case you've changed things since) :

Bank; I had 32 gold, deposited 33, got chased out.. next game, got offered a 33 withdrawal.
Came across it later, deposited 900... Ka-ching!

Alice; giving gold to escape didn't actually cost gold (tried twice, second time asked for 16, had 32, still 32 at camp)

Maxine; Not sure if this is a new feature/bug or just unfortunate for this run, but Maxine did plenty of repeat aroused's .. at least 4 in a row. (fail to resist => Aroused => struggle-out after some tries => instant reoffer (and fail)) x4.
I did have addiction around 10 at the first fail, so the fight was a bit weak from the get-go. But it felt like the player should have a turn after a struggle-out success. I think that's what you've done in other fights?

Mia; I think the fight sorta broke with a lust reset potion, after losing clothes, during the blowjob phase. No more lust increases.

Heavy Mace - from this thread it sounds like you've already changed it, but I'll post this anyway. The description is a tad confusing but it's also somewhat bugged. +30 and -1 per Attack. I had perk +6 and +3 from "skillups". Ended up doing 8/12 damage .. that's 4 "normal" damage. 30 - 26, even including the base 10 wouldn't be that low. I equipped it straight from forge, but later tested at campsite as well: it includes my equipped weapon damage (had +7 from sword: 10 + 6 + 7 = 23, +3 from skillups, sounds about right. Swapped to mittens at camp, damage went from +4 to +9 (mittens 2 to sword 7 = 5 difference ))
Of course I didn't check it before running into Alice with my whopping 4 damage ... :-)

The unconscious lady; didn't consume my Red Potion (as far as I can be sure of having had two going in)

The Corruption from Chloe doesn't seem to stick, it never has for me. Is that supposed to be just a combat mechanic, or permanent? Not that a couple corruption would matter post-castle... :-)

Mona .. Her info and the player's info are in strange order occasionally. Not an issue as long as I remember to keep my eyes open, and a nice little ride when I don't... :-)

Geez, that looks like a lot of things, but most are fortunately pretty simple - or not even real issues.

If you are finding the idea of encoded stats transferred between versions as a gamebreaking feature the is another way to lessen grind:

I agree that encoded stats from one version to another may force player to miss some early content, so you can add a point multiplier at early runs. It works as following: while the player hasn't earned like 500 points yet, he gets points after completing the game with a certain multiplier, let it be X2. Then the multiplier is lowered, the next 500 points are earned with multiplier X1.5, then X1.25 and after that it is reduced to 1 (no multiplier).

This might make earning early points quicker.
