PornHub have been on a weird crusade against all sorts of content recently, but doing it in a really unfriendly way. I had my account deleted without notice. I didn't even know what had happened. I got in touch with their support who flatly refused to explain what had happened and said they could terminate accounts at any time without explanation - not really very helpful if you don't even know what you did wrong. I might not have minded if it wasn't for the fact that I was a paid up premium member with 3 months left on an annual subscription and purchased videos. At every stage PornHub have been obstructive and unhelpful, so they can go to hell. I'll not be spending any money there again because they can't be trusted.

You should issue a chargeback through your credit card company if they deleted your account without explanation after you paid money for it.

IMO, this is only a titan fight and the credit card companies will cave in in the end. Can you imagine them loosing 2% to 4% from the hundreds of millions in sales that PornHub is generating? I think they didn't have any choice to act on it because the bad publicity hurt them more. I think another reason is to put pressure on PornHub because they are very opaque (and they want to keep it that way).

For example, Visa had a head-on with Walmart four years ago. Walmart was complaining that Visa fees were too high. They gradually stopped accepting Visa payments, and 6 month later, everybody were happy. Closer to us, credit cards banned Mega. It's at that time that I paid them in Bitcoin (f**k the credit cards). These days, renewal can be done using a credit card. They caved in somehow.

PornHub aren't without resources though. They can accept direct payments, direct withdraws and checks. However, given their track record in excellent customer support, I would certainly not trust them with direct withdraws. And to pay models, they probably use direct payments (or perhaps still check). They could make a deal with another credit card company. Can you imagine a signature PornHub American Express credit card? or a PornHub Discovery credit card?

True. I consider this more an ethical issue. I believe copyright laws in general should be less restrictive and allow more personal creativity sooner. Either by drastically shortening the time of protection or by widening forms of "fair use". I usually do not look up the actors in a cockhero because vanilla porn scenes are just boring to me. I would probably pay for cockheros if there was some good producer and high quality source material is of course important, but it is largely exchangeable for me. In the masses this stuff is pumped out into the internet, a few scenes are just not worth much. So ethically I don't see the issue, if one would sell CHs, the source material should of course be payed for, but it should't make up much of the price.

And actually, as I live in Germany, porn mostly is not protected by copy right laws. To be covered by copyright law some work has to meet a threshold of creativity and German courts have ruled over and over again that simply displaying sexual acts does not meet that. Maybe some highly unique fetish clips or some movies with pornographic elements meet that standard but the usual fuck scenes do not. So curiously enough, making cockheros would be perfectly legal here. You have to be careful with the music though... While I consider copy-right laws as too restrictive, I don't agree with this legal view though. Porn shouldn't be treated differently and I think this is due to porn being regarded as immoral even though the law nowadays does not support that view..

But I think it would be great if there was some sort of invite-only site where we can upload CH videos as well as similar projects. I like the Milovana community a lot, but the forum format doesn't really allow for content sharing in an efficient way. I was thinking some kind of website where users have their own page, with all their creations uploaded. It costs a lot to host streaming content of course, so it would likely come with some advertising or pop-ups, but a content creator's page could also host torrents or Mega links.

A website that hosts all files is also one of the two most persistent myths. It makes the storage owner a huge target because he is now considered a distributor. Copyright owners have a solid grip on distributors. That's a fact!

Yep. I mean, they still have the videos. In the video manager it says the videos have been disabled, pending review. If there's any review process coming or similar, though, I have no idea. If I didn't think I'd eventually get my account banned for DMCA violations anyway, I'd consider the verification, depending on what their new verification process is, but I doubt I will.

The question is now if all the smaller sites, like for example Spankbang.com, will follow suit. PH tends to be a trendsetter among the adult sites, and those sites are going to worry about getting hit next.

That's their old verification. If you try to upload now, it says it's blocked until the new verification system is in place. So they're making changes to the process. :)
