The Great American Challenge curiously isn't on this list, but on http://www.cockhero.info/great-american-challenge/ it says June 17, 2013.

I only use the dates from CockHero.info if I can't find it in the Milovana Forum. If you check the very first Cock Hero by lalaland it's release date on CH.info is about 2 years off, a pretty large discrepancy. Still, I try to choose whichever date is earlier.

Thanks for pointing me to a better date for GAC. I check Empornium almost daily so I've already snagged that one, it just hasn't made it to the list yet. Again, thanks for the heads up. You guys are helping me a bunch!

If anyone spots any issues with any of the lists posted in the OP, please chime in and help keep me honest.

Great American Challenge is on the list now, almost all dates are the original from the source (Milovana or others).
For publish reasons some latest vídeos may have different date, but are reviewed after some days.

Thanks for producing the Sailor Moon Strokefest and Schoolgirl Experiment, they're great.

The intention of this set is not to rename, but to collect and categorize all of the Cock Hero (and Cock Hero-ish) videos. The batchfile I use can and will rename the files if you wish (as well as find, identify, copy, and move them), but the original filesize and filename are always the first entrys in the CSV and the torrent will contain the original files with their original filenames separated into folders with consistent and hyper-descriptive names. This will allow those with the original files to hit the ground running on the new torrent (I've also created a little drag-n-drop helper-script that will find and copy/move the files into the proper folder structure).

As for tagging Strokefest #1 - Sailor Moon (1080p x264).mp4 with the "Cock Hero" moniker, I've done that in the "NewName" column of the CSV because, well... it is a Cock Hero video by the self-imposed definition that I've provided. Just for the record, here are the current entries for the two vids of yours that I have in the set:

I hope that you don't feel that I have somehow maligned your work. I'm simply a fan of the genre that's gathered all of the Cock Hero vids he could find and produced a little WinNT batch script to help collate and organize them. I personally rename the files when I copy them for viewing on my set-top boxes so that I can tell what they are and who produced them, which makes it easy to find additional videos by the same author. Incidently, it will also change them back to the original filename with a simple command, if desired.

Thanks for your input, if you have any further suggestions I'd certainly like to hear them.

That might not include pass_is_mokkori.txt etc, since it's very likely most of those files are lost forever. If you're such an archiver, you might have them and could contribute to the project!

this person who used other creators' copyrighted materials to make their own cock hero sort of thing is *this* upset that a collection of contributors' work "might not" include every original file, and even upset at the person who is asking people to in fact contribute those so they are there? maybe some help is in order here.

Actually, I have all of the original torrents (with their ancillary files and folder structure) downloaded to a single folder. It's not pretty, but it's there.

To distribute just the video file, without these other files, is both arrogant and disrespectful... and it presumes that you are better suited to decide what part of that creator's work is worth keeping and what is not worth keeping. To an Archivist, this is beyond disrespectful... it is blatantly destructive.

Since we have established that I never intended on altering the files (or their filenames) in any manner, I can see that your only remaining complaint is lack of original folder structure and ancillary files. Retaining these would allow users to seed both the new collection and the original torrents concurrently. As a contributor to the now defunct (and much lamented) Underground-Gamer tracker I'm familiar with this paradigm. Since the batchfile can process these files on a whim, I could release the collection intact and leave it to individual users to do with the collection as they wish. I've actually duplicated the entire collection in x264/AAC/1500KiB/400p/MP4 using AviDemux for playback on my old set-top boxes (reducing the size by ~75%) and use the script to match files by name and copy/rename to an external drive for easy viewing. I usually name by author first, then date so I can see the progression of their work, so to each their own.
The only issue I see with this is that I received my copies of many early Cock Hero vids through the Cock Hero Collection on Empornium (Freeleech!). We should assume that any videos in that set were treated in the manner you describe. I might be willing to attempt a full recovery of the files in their original release format, if members feel it's worth it.

I'm attempting to create a useful collection that everyone can use. Making it this way would allow those using both public and private trackers to share the same files (helping to perpetuate the files) and would allow for simple yearly updates... just dump all the new content into the same folder and re-create the torrent.

So waddya guys think? Should the collected torrent be released in the original format complete with ancillary files and folder structure (or lack thereof)? Is it worth the effort to recreate the original torrents for all of the early videos contained in the Cock Hero Collection available on Empornium? Do you commonly save all of your Cock Hero torrents to the same folder as I do (which the collection would emulate)?

The legitimate concern that sam_bane brought up, that if your collection goes up on emp and stays there with sufficiently many seeders, then it will effectively kill most other torrents containing the same files. As far as I can see there are only two folders in the "CH Original" folder with subfolders, so these are the only torrents that may be killed by yours. One is the freeleech torrent you're talking about. It contains no additional files such as pass_is_mokkori.txt, so it would be no loss if it died (and it doesn't have the original file names anyway). The second one is the PMV torrent. Afaict, you're only going to include one of these files in your torrent, so this torrent will probably stay seeded.

Hunting down the original filenames for everything would not be worth the effort in my opinion. And I could imagine it being contraproductive at this point - most copies of, say, Cock Hero 6 on people's computers throughout the world are likely from that torrent on emp, so restoring the old filename would make it harder, not easier, for people to continue seeding. But I don't have a very strong opinion on this matter.

The folder structure in "CH Altered" (in the file you uploaded) is clearly much better. In my opinion, [audBM] should rather be put at the end of the folder name. Since you're only including proper CHs (and a very few Edge Heros, as you call them), the distinction isn't very important between audBM or visBM etc, so if I would be looking for a CH to play I'd much rather have the ones by the same creator grouped together, and then later check "okay, it has no visual BM, good to know". And I think most people would agree nowadays that a visual beatmeter isn't very important as long as the beat is clearly visible and there are on-screen instructions (although it was back in the day when the beats were less regular and less clear). The beat in the Flux Dance videos are easier to follow than many of the beats in earlier CHs, for example.

And another thing, which is purely a matter of taste, is that it would be more readable to put dashes in the dates, such as "davidko_2015-02-26_Cock Hero Emotion One_38m27s_[altBM]". It makes it look less as a long random string of digits. If there are linuxy reasons or whatever to keep it the way you have it, disregard this.

Just my two cents! You can name it however you want. :) I won't have the resources to seed this torrent (if I did, I would've had my own complete collection already!), but I'm excited about a complete, organized collection going up on emp.

Btw, I spotted a typo: Cock Hero Synch should be Sync.

Personally, I feel that I have the utmost respect for the work the authors have put into all of the videos in this collection, that is why I've attempted to take such meticulous care to preserve said filenames, authorship, and release dates associated with each video in the CSV for my little app. Since I have already displayed the willingness to collect these videos together in their original torrented format, I can only assume that you disagree with the notion of collecting all of the videos together in one place and choose to associate such an attempt with disrespsct and destruction.

It took me a couple of months to find and download all of these videos from a large myriad of sources. A collection such as this would allow new users instant access to the vast majority of the cock hero world, and do so in a way that presents all of the pertinent information directly at their fingertips. I certainly wish that someone else had done this previously so did I, as an end user, could simply download and enjoy them.

Please tell me, how can this be bad? Do you feel that I should forsake my attempt at creating an all-inclusive cock hero collection for the Milovana community? Do any of the other in the users agree? Do any of the other authors feel in some way maligned that I should attempt to purloin their work in this manner? would any of the other authors be upset if I disregarded their folder structure and thumbnails, screenshots, and text files?

SB, you seem like a pretty angry guy, so I feel that others should be allowed their own opinions so that I don't make the mistake of letting you to speak for the entire community.
