So apparently consumers will be able to buy cameras that can record 180 degree VR video at an affordable price point by the end of the year:

I think this might be a big deal for VR porn, perhaps we will get more amateur VR content, or more studios releasing VR content.
180 degree VR video is already used by a number studios in the porn industry and is less of a technical challenge than 360 degree VR on both the hardware and software side and well, just plain looks better than 360 degree VR at the moment. Also, as a straight man, there's no reason to look behind me while watching a VR porn.

I don't think that's a VR camera as it only has a single lens (per side) so it can only shoot 2D video. Unless there's something I'm missing here.Marno wrote: ↑Fri Sep 29, 2017 6:37 pm I bought one a couple of years ago, only it's 360°. They're not that expensive any more. Mine is a Ricoh Theta S. See Ricoh's website. There are some that are vastly more expensive, but the Ricoh is an excellent camera for the amateur.
I believe there's a distinction between a 180/360 camera and one that can capture 3D VR images.
