I suppose my 'complaint' was that it was unclear how the situation led to that - was I knocked out? It was like that scene started playing without any real context.

Triggered a bad ending I had not seen before, but not sure how. Failed an anal check at the stockade, suddenly I am a collared slave? Seems a bit harsh on a single failed unavoidable (random) check?
