Up and down ladders might sometimes involve tasks. If you want to go up / avoid going down, do the task.
It would be nice if at least some of the tiles involved randomness as well. So it doesn't get too repetitive if you fail to finish for a while. Perhaps some tasks could even escalate? So you ...
