I've been trying to play this game so many times through many different versions (since the very early "legacy" one) and I always ended with frustration.
I can't understand if it's just being extremely unlucky or maybe it's me who didn't get how to play properly. Maybe both.
However all the times ends up with:
- Some glorious encounter which it's impossible to beat/escape just appears out of the blue and beats me.
- I get kidnapped by the nuns which ask me for too high amout of money and I end up there for the eternity.
- If I escape, can't join the Nun anymmore to lower my stats/can't join the pub anymore to earn money.
- I get kidnapped by the amazons too early in the game.
In the end I've never been able to get too far, never reached the castle, never been able to beat all the bosses.
Any tip?
Same here. I've played hundreds of times since this tease became a thing. Never had a good ending, never reached the castle. It does get frustrating at times and makes me just not want to play anymore. Still wishing for an easy mode so I can see all the content I've been missing
Sorry to hear both your struggles despite your incredible persistence! Let me give you some guidance (mostly answering Vicissitudo's specific issues, but let me know if you have specific questions)

It sounds like most of your deaths are due to preventable special events:
- For the nun, the simplest way to avoid that event is to not go to the church so much. 2-3 times a run should be plenty. If you're going 5+ times, it's a bad sign -- you need to adjust your play to limit the addiction gain (mainly, shorten fights), and farm more potions (to get more blue potions).
- For the amazons, I believe if your stamina is high, it's very unlikely you get caught by their trap. So don't explore unless you're at 90-100 stamina (this is generally good advice anyways, except in special situations).
As for "glorious encounter which it's impossible to beat" -- are you referring to the boss encounters, or just random enemies? For bosses, those are almost 100% avoidable until you're ready. If it's random enemies, you may be pushing to the more difficult areas too quickly. Most of the time, if you can beat one enemy in a particular area, you should be strong enough to beat the rest, and vice versa, unless your addictions are very skewed towards one in particular. Some of the enemies do require different approaches that you kinda have to learn with trial and error, but most of them shouldn't result in losing outright, just having a tough fight and gaining more lust/addiction than you expected. Also, keeping one green potion is handy as an emergency measure to save you from an otherwise losing encounter.
For most of the game, you really want to optimize for killing enemies quickly and safely, so don't be afraid to stay on forest/grove for a long time. If you don't already know, you get a guaranteed potion after beating 2 enemies in a day (and each enemy after that), so try to get at least 1-2 potions per day. Get backpack ASAP so you can store them instead of drinking them, then time your drinks carefully (e.g. don't drink 2 red/purp until you have 1 blue to offset the corruption/addiction gain). Try to stay at or close to 0 corruption at all times.
Going along with "focus on killing enemies quickly" -- do everything you can to up your attack. If you find a weapon recipe that will increase your attack, focus on building that weapon ASAP. In the normal mode post-game, prioritize increasing attack over everything else. Perk-wise, max out attack or stamina first, then the other. The other perks are mostly irrelevant (you could make a slight argument for gold being okay).
In terms of stamina management, try to keep your stamina >= 80 at all times, even during a fight (exception: your last fight of the day, or your last hit of a fight, you can push it a little more). Yes, this means waiting quite often during a fight. But it will work out. Prefer light attacks over strong attacks, except in special circumstances that I will not reveal

. And, again, do not go exploring without 90+ stamina.
Once you've buffed your attack a bit, and hopefully kept your addictions low, you should be strong enough to start taking on some of the bosses. There are definitely weaker and stronger ones, and you'll learn which ones you should prioritize. If you started on the grove, you can use the ancient sword to take on the bosses a little earlier than usual. The bosses should give you enough exp/money to get a lot stronger, and start spending more time in the harder areas.
Hopefully that helps! There's a lot more subtle things you can do too (especially as you start gearing up for castle runs), but this should help you make progress!
