That controller will certainly do the trick, but having a hard time working out what interface it really has. Can't see any plugs or ports so most likely some wiring to be done, soldering in worst case. Not a showstopper, but a pain in the butt I'd rather avoid.

Mainly therefore, a stepdown converter + the CY-2 controller seems more tempting. The trafo can be useful for other purposes later as well.
