The ‘smarter’ prisoners realise that there’s no point in putting themselves through days and days of needless suffering and that the best thing to do is to give in right away. Most of them see it that way but I sometimes get people who want to play hard-ball and think they can handle me. Of course, it ends up being a very painful and humiliating experience for those people…and then they submit to me anyway.”
