You didn't plan for any of this. The job came through faster than expected — two weeks' notice, a one-way ticket, and a list of apartments that turned out to be either way above your budget or already taken. You've been in this city for four days. Your contract starts tomorrow morning. You're still sleeping in a hotel room that's eating through your savings at a pace that makes your stomach turn every time you think about it.
