Beta Testers
I was startled opening the door. Molly had already arrived.
"How- How did you get in?"
"Oh Hi Tim! You're back, well silly you left your door unlocked so I figured I'd get a head start."
She looked stunning I couldn't believe she was in my home.
"Oh thanks, uh can I get you anything?"
"Sure why don't you grab me a water and I'll get this thing fired up."
I went to the kitchen and grabbed her water. Walking back in she was bent over plugging in some cords, I couldn't help but stare...
"TIM! Naughty boy"
"Uh I'm I'm sorry"
"tsk tsk tsk! I thought you were better than the others Tim."
"I- I-"
"Hold one moment" She began furiously typing on a laptop next to the headset. "There, I customized welcome program for your home device. This should get some great result"
"Uh thanks?"
"Now Tim, you're on your own, remember your training and if anything comes up just call the office. And remember I'll be back in two days for a check up and some evaluation."
"Okay see you Thursday Molly." She waltzed our the door with a smug smile. She stopped in the doorway.
"Oh and Tim, I expect a lot of progress when I'm back. I'm up for promotion and I won't have one of my betas ruining that for me."
Something about the way she said it... this petite little office manager acting like my boss. This thing wouldn't exist without my work. But for some reason I felt like I needed to prove to her that I was good. That I could do the testing. I checked my watch 6:30 PM I had a few hours before bed, I guess I should get started. I sat on my couch and put the device on my head...
