"My old boyfriend used to be big into that denial thing. He locked himself up in a chastity belt and mailed the keys to foreign countries so that he couldn't get them back until weeks later. Wasn't always the most reliable thing to do - one time it got lost in the mail and he didn't get out of it for months! That was when he met me, actually, which was sort of disappointing. He said he'd always thought he'd take the thing off when he met someone real but without the key, he couldn't get it off at all! The thing was apparently pretty much unbreakable without injuring himself."
