But inevitably, a fateful day arrives. It's a day that somehow you've felt, intuitively, was coming.
You arrive at the accustomed time at the Gate of the Golden Apples and show the amulet to the sentry on duty. The sentry beckons you to follow as usual, but no sooner do you step inside the gate than several other royal guards surround you. They haul you away from the palace and toss you into a prison cell within one of the subterranean vaults beneath the arena.
