Performance Review
"Excellent!" she says. Her leg falls back down. You feel a sense of relief.
But then she hands you a box. "Put that down, we'll get to it in a bit," she says.
"Okay," you reply, confused.
"Now, let's go over the remarks." She proceeds to tell you that you are an average employee, nothing great but nothing too bad. She points out several areas that are concerning to her.
"We're going to discuss my issues with your performance now," she says with a pretty smile. "These are the ones that count the most!"
"Yes, boss," you agree quietly. You steel yourself. You need this job. The six-figure student loans are a constant worry in your life. You have to get better, no matter what she tells you.
