First things first though.
If you really want to get fit and look nice for guys, then you should probably modify your diet. I'm not saying completely cut too many things out of your diet, just moderate how much you eat.
The biggest and easiest thing to do first though, is cutting sugary drinks out! Only drink soda's or alcoholic beverages on special occasions. (i.e. birthday, new years, etc.) and don't trick yourself into thinking that almost every day is "special" if you are just out to lunch with someone special, that doesn't mean that you can drink anything, just order water, maybe ask for a lemon too.
Next, make sure that you aren't going out to eat everyday, make sure you eat healthily (i.e. don't have meat for every meal). Personally I have meat probably once or twice a week for a meal. If it is just a small part of the meal, that may be fine, but you have to be careful.
Next, you have to be strict with how you eat, try to eat slowly. You will know when you're full then, and then stop. Don't say that "oh, it's just a few fries in my plate, let me finish" or "There are only two more bites left, why not?" Just wrap it up and eat it later, or throw it away. It isn't necessary for your day.
Once you think you've got into the mindset and understanding the basics of how you should eat, go onto the next page. I will not explain what your diet has to be, no one can follow one straight forward diet, you have to modify it to your needs.
