You awaken on the comfortable but not entirely familiar surface of your shuttlecraft. A brief glance at the vessel's chronometer reveals that it's been scarcely a day and two nights since the last time that you were outside the shuttle, but you are nonetheless thankful for your newly improved situation: a clock to keep track of the time; a transparent viewscreen to watch the happenings in the shuttlebay; luxuries such as chairs and a proper bathroom - compared to the brig, this is first class living.
Even better, you see Pilot Susan approaching through the viewscreen. Under Captain Kross' care it would sometimes be weeks between visits, but it seems Pilot Susan has many more uses for you. After all, she did name you as her co-pilot. You straighten your body and wipe the sleep out of your eyes as she opens the shuttle doors.
