The secret is that we're not here for Eden. I'm sure you were told that the situation is dire for Eden. Well, it's not.
We're firing most of our weapons now to make it look as if their time is running out, but if we keep firing at this rate we'll be out of ammunition and power in a few hours.
The reason we're doing this is because we want Eden to call for help - and so they have. A ship is coming to assist the planet, and as soon as it arrives we'll turn out attention from the planet to the ship.
Our plan is to board the ship and take it for ourselves. The planet is not in any real danger.
