As you are about to enter the command codes, it occurs to you that maybe you shouldn't enter the codes.
First of all, there's no guarantee that you'll be able to escape if you do. Sure, you might be able to make it to the shuttlebay and get off the ship before it's destroyed, but on the other hand you might not. Is that really how you want to die? Killed by the very people you've been trying to protect?
Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, this Empire ship has catered to your every need - the crew were so nice that they even handed out restricted command codes to you, a virtual stranger. Conversely, you're well aware of the horrors the Confederacy inflicts upon males such as yourself. Perhaps it's in your own self-interest to side with the Empire.
