He said he wanted to try to rebuild the family. He said it as if my mothers death hadn't even happened. I didn't even know who my father was anymore, but I had no place else to go. He bought me a plane ticket and I was on my way back home. Everything I owned was in my luggage with me and it wasn't much. My father picked me up at the airport. It was awkward and on the way home he explained that I could stay as long as it takes to get my life back on track. I was angry at myself for accepting his help after what he had done to my mother. His new house was enormous, I guess business was good and the insurance money from my mother's death probably also helped. I couldn't understand what could make a man sacrifice his whole family and start a completely new life.
