So, I registered on the CyberMistress Board (link above). I was surprised to find that they've created a "Milovana Converter" over there for CyberMistress.

One of the ones they've converted (and apparently modified) is my own "Retribution Alley - The Scavenger Hunt".

At lease one submatt tease has been converted.

I was just a little surprised and thought I would pass it on.

Apparently, it is not a "converter" as much as it is that the scripts are converted to/adapted to the CM application's script language and format.

So and now you are angry cause someone "stole" your work or why did you create the thread?

You know you cannot forbid that users convert things by hand. You can easy just copy and paste the webteases if you want to do. And converters? Do you think adobe would complain if microsoft writes in pdf-import filter for word?

Also be proud that people like your tease that much, that they converted it. It was also converted by a user and not by the official guys themself and also the program is really great, cause it brings so much more into the tease. Like having a stroke sound of 100 strokes instead a written line to stroke 100 times. Or having to really wait for 5mins till the script continue instead of taking a stopwatch and wait the time by hand.

Webteases are really great, but they have a big flaw, they are to static thats prob. why ppl make flash-teases now which enables a whole new bunch of things the writter can do. With that program the user can convert the webteases he enjoys himself and he will enjoy them even more that way.

Nothing wrong with that and as I said ppl should be happy that someone created such an great program.

How about thinking different and not that much egoistic? Like being proud that others like and enjoy your webtease.

Guy dont take it wrong now, but grow up sorry.

1. I created the thread so that others who might be interested would know about it.

2. I didn't complain about anyone doing anything. I said I was surprised. I actually think it is interesting.

3. If you will check the board over at CyberMistress, you will find a post that said to the guy who did the conversion where I said I was excited about trying it out.

4. Do you always jump to conclusions before you know all the facts? Instead of jumping on me, you could have asked if the reason I was posting the thread was because I was pissed. But, no. You immediately accused me of something which was not true, which could have been borne out with a simple query.

5. I tried out the routine. And, I thought a credible job was done. And, to his credit, he acknowledged the origin of the tease, which I appreciate.

hi

I'm the programmer of CyberMistress and the tool.

First of all, I want to say I'm a huge Milovana fan myself.

I noticed that my program and this site share a huge part of our users.

Some users wanted to see some sort of combination, where they could enjoy the Milovana content, not only online but also offline. That's the main reason I created a tool which allowed Milovana teases to be imported in my program.

I do want to emphasize that I want to stimulate users to come to this site as much as possible to find amazing content by some very talented tease writers.

With my tool, they can easily keep a tease on their computer and run it again, even while they're offline. I also encourage users to share their Milovana-to-CyberMistress conversions, preferably after they asked the original authors permission, so Milovana is also promoted on my site.

I hope, since I do not want to encourage "stealing" any of the content on this unique website - but on the contrary letting the user enjoy this site even more, that this will not lead to any tensions.[/b]

I think you've written a great application. I have enjoyed the hell out of playing around with it today. I assure you that once I figure out the scripting I will be contributing some routines.

Again, my purpose for posting was purely informational.

Hi Kenneth,

at Milovana we only give our users a platform for their creativity. So if our users don't have a problem with your converter we think it's great. The only thing I am afraid of right now is that people are using this converter to rip all our webteases in one session. That would make our site slow or it at least it would cost us a lot of traffic. But that's just my personal thought, I don't know how seraph0x thinks about.

I don't know how the converter works, but *hehe* in a short time you will don't need this converter anymore because the release of our new webtease editor is very soon and I hope a lot of authors will use the new features.

hi

About the traffic, that was the only downside I could think of first, but then again, I assume the user will first check out the tease and only convert it to CM if he likes it. So this would mean the tool does download the content, but I assume this is already saved in the cache of the users computer, so no additional traffic here. Perhaps the contrary could be true: a tease could be run thousands of times in CyberMistress while there would be no additional traffic for Milovana once it's saved on the users pc.

Anyway, I think this convertor tool will remain interesting for all the teases that have been created so far, and who knows what else it may be capable of in the future ;)

Cheers,
Kenneth

Hey Ken,

 You got the endorsement of the Team for sure, we're definitely all for open content, since we rely on it ourselves (specifically the promotional images that paysites are giving away).

Please be aware that you have to get the author's permission in advance. We might offer for authors to select a license like Creative Commons for their work in the future, but for the moment they are licensing their writing to us exclusively.

So again, we're happy if you use our authors' content and take it further, but please make sure that you always obtain permission. Since all authors are registered on this board, that shouldn't be too much of a hassle either. Thanks!

Cheers,

Seraph0x :-)
