Hi,
I have started a tumblr blog, but for those of you who give a damn about what I have ot say you can find my posys here, Here is post 1:
Creative Process
I have been struggling recently to reconcile the difference to between a scientific approach to BDSM and the creative elements involved. I play and I rely a great deal on my imagination to do so and yet I find myself incorporating a process or system at the same time. I have come to realise that there are 2 elemens to my play, there is the basic structure which on its own is fun and there is also the more complex stuff that sits on top. Its like baking a cake, you bake the cake using precise measurments of the ingredients and the icing is the creative part.
So my conclusion is this. Its a creative process, but its still a process.

Fifty Shades of Grey
For those of us who have experience in BDSM this book is not for you. I mean really not everyone enters into a contractual agreemen as part of any BDSM relationship and the whole book is filled with errors, but the part that irritates me the most is that the book attempts to assume the responsibility of educating those that don't participate in BDSM, I don't mind that as long it does justice to that responisbility. If your going ot generalise BDSM and take a typical relationship then this is not hte best example to use, Mr.Grey is hardly your typical top and the book suggests that only the wealthy partake in such activities and it creates an assumption in novice minds that all BDSM relationships centre around contractual agreements which is clearly not the case.

Awwww 88 you are ruining my dreams!! The only reason I became a sub was to find a Mr Grey *giggles*!!
I must admit that I did enjoy 50 shades and did find it horny & fun, even though I was a little disappointed after all the hype, I had been expecting more!
The BDSM stereotyping also annoyed me slightly eg was his childhood issues that he was addressing through his dominant side.
The rest was just someone else's interpretation of what they would want or how their BDSM relationship is and we are all different and want/need very different things.
But I now so want a red room of pain in my house!

I couldn't agree more. I hate the publicity and misconceptions that book has gotten.
First misconception: The book contains sex or sexual descriptions. It does not.
Secondly, just like so many other ignorant people tend to believe, submission is NOT a kind of weakness. In fact it is as much the very opposite as you could possibly get. Nothing takes more strength, power, call it what you will, than submitting your full, unconditional trust to another person in the way submissives do.

but often works of fantasy are.. fantasy..

Sleeping beauty by anna rice
even the excerpts of the Marci de Sade were not very helpful for me.
so I can't speak for shades or it's sequels
the one I found fairly intriguing was the movie the Secretary
which.. was actually loving
