Hi everyone, I'm planning to start making the flashteases. My goal is to make a really long flashtease with lots of pictures and such. I am a real-life programmer, so all this xml thing is really simple, but I have a question for those who already made long and big flashteases.

-Are there any limits in sizes or number of files that you can include?
-How do you make your plans for "architecture" in the beginning, so you still have control when you are editing the tease when it gets bigger?
-And I would appriciate any suggestions/hints that you can give me that you found useful.. or if you encountered any problems, how did you solve them?


I'm planning to make a tease similar to Awesome Competition, but much bigger, possibly with a few gigabytes of pictures and sounds. That is why I need to start it the right way, so I dont get messed up later.

That would kind of be all and please dont just redirect me to the tutorial, I know its there and I read it;)

Yes I read it some time back, but still I thought if someone who knows how to make good teases was willing to share some experiences in a few words;)

Well I am a more..creative than organised
which may explain bugs in my teases.

but yes there alot of things you can do

create a flow chart
diagram points
work from a power point presentation

Decker's "The Porn Star Is Right" is probably the largest flash tease on the sight. By the sounds of it, you're planning something larger, so it's really anybody's guess as to whether it will work or not. According to Seraph0x, there's no limit anymore, so it should, but be aware that once it gets to a certain size, editing, saving, uploading, etc starts to take a really long time and on longer projects, I've had a problem with java crashing while trying to save or upload new pictures. In order to make it work, I've gotten to a point where I only upload 4 or 5 pictures at a time, and save every 5-10 pages. Seems to help.

As for organizing, personally, I use a flow chart to track all the decision points. I like to add choices that let folks go their own way through the story. Up to a point of course. I obviously can't write every possible choice/decision that someone else might make. Anyway, with a flow chart of those decision points, while I'm writing one path, I can "ignore" the rest, then go back and write the next path, etc. Obviously, the more decision points there are, the more complex the flowchart becomes. The chart makes it a a lot easier on me to find where those points were and go back to them.

I do not write out the tease before hand, but two of my recent projects are starting to make me wonder if that might not be easier to do and I may end up trying it that way. Power point I think would be better as you can easily add the picture you want for that page, and see how it will look in the actual tease. Plus, there's only so much text you can put on a page before it runs off the bottom. If you write it out in word, you won't necessarily know where to split pages.

As far as editing...personally, I go back and edit every 50 pages. This way when I'm finished, I do not have to go back and go through 3,4, or 500 pages at once. Saving all the editing up until the end, I'm bound to miss stuff. Cutting it off into little chunks as I go just works better for me.

Hints:
- Flashtease has a pretty bad image quality. Use teaseMe to play a tease with high resolution pictures
- Don't make pages with timer more than 30 seconds because it annoys most of the people here to stare for minutes on end on a single picture. If you really need it - make a row of 30-second pages.
- Present a list of toys needed as early as possible in the introduction. There's nothing worse than to see "Now grab your anal plug...." after 15 minutes of playing, on which point you need to stand up and go redeem it from where you keep it, loosing all desire to play in the process.
- Fantasy is a good thing, and while you may find hot to ask to hold an edge for half an hour - I suggest you to write only the things you can complete yourself.
- Spend some time to find a really hot model and a really good photoset of her. You can get almost any photoset of almost any model free on the net. Try to match pictures with what's going on in the tease, making an impression like she's talking to the player. A poorly chosen pictures may ruin great teases, a great set of pictures may make a rather casual tease top rated.
- Keep it safe. I suggest you never ask for life-threatening things, and if you really must - always put a disclaimer.
- Keep your teases as simple as possible - even if it means a rather plain thing with not so much descisions. If you try to make a big thing right away and fail - you may loose all desire to write more.
- Don't include choices in a tease that end it prematurely without it being obvious. "I quit" button to end a tease is ok. But there are examples when a girl asks you what color you like and if you answer wrong - the tease ends with her being disappointed by you. A VERY bad thing to do, IMHO.

Really thank for these, are really helpfull.. and I already started making the tease;)
