Methinks you sort of missed the point of that post.
The overall point he was making there was this: Would you even bother to talk to them if you didn't know they were a girl? He's essentially saying that by posting "I'm a girl" they are seeking attention and admitting that a pair of boobs is the only reason someone would want talk to them.

I'm not sure I agree with the guy, but I can see his point and sort of makes me wonder. Especially around here...Look how many guys pretend to be girls because they know they'll get more attention that way...and it works. Now think about how many guys are pretending to be girls that we don't know about....

So whether I agree or not, the guy does have a point I guess.

Of course there is SOME amount of truth to it. There are certainly women who act the way it's described in the post. But to generalise it? Completely idiotic.

Well first off that post got the "no girls on the internet thing" wrong, it actually is just because you don't find many girls online. Bear in mind the "rules of the internet" thing was drafted up at least five or six years ago, and the demographics were even more one-sided then.

Attention whoring is bad obviously, but people tend to over-react in a big way. I got banned from a site once for posting a picture of a woman, because a mod thought I was posting my own photograph. (Oddly enough I was banned BY a woman too)
