Here is a little short story I posted in another thread, thought I would put it in here too

The sun had risen sometime ago, it now beat down on her naked flesh,it warmed her body, but inside he soul was still frozen, frozen with a resolve, a resilience not to give in. She was bound to two wooden stakes, her arms and legs spread wide, as if she were some virgin sacrifice to an ancient titan, she laughed at the thought virgin. Her body ached, she had been like this since sunset last night. He said he would return at sunrise and he was late. For days he had interrogated her, tortured her, oh he had not harmed her in any way, apart from a few welts here and there. No, there was more than one way to skin a cat, and Henry Cadno knew a few ways to do that.
She had dreamed of him in the night, his lithe body, his shock of red hair. She loved him, but she would not give in to him, she would not tell him her most guarded and powerful secret. Her mind drifted again, and she slipped into another wakeful dream, a forest of empty trees, their golden brown leaves making a carpet for her to rest on, the vines and plants of the forest floor entwining in her, holding her in a slumber.
