Hello out there and happy new year^^
a couple of weeks before i have read "Tonight an Orgasm Will Cost You... "
i was so inspired by that idea that i thought hmmm lets make a small game to that
so i developed "The Timer"
Basically it controls the time between videos that are reachable in the www are played^^
In addition you get some instructions before you see the video... I have thought of some good teasing stuff
but i have the problem that my english is terrible

. So i need you (every one who wants to be a betatester) to try the game read all the teases correct the bad writing put the teases in nice storys and tell me every bug it has!
this thread should be for this meanings.
here is the game with the teases
http://ifile.it/s36quc9
or
http://hotfile.com/dl/141277480/d50b008 ... er.7z.html
only the timer.exe
http://ifile.it/6q9xoaj
edit*
fixed the sizeproblem with 1024:768
fixed the google thing... now you see a nice couple between the breaks...
Install instruction:
extract the zip
As you can see there are 4 textfiles and a exe file
to use the Timer.exe you need to create the path
C:\Temp\Tasks\
in this path you must put the textfiles.
after that the game should work!
the importants thing for me is the storymode!!! the random mode has to few teases so far!! every help to gather teases is wellcome
If you dislike the story you can easily change the textfiles to your meanings^^
Just post it then here that i can test your created storys, too

As far as I can tell, this isn't working at all. It keeps telling me to "put some videos in the text file", and that doesn't make sense. I have the text files in the same folder with the .exe file.
It sounds interesting, but it isn't working for me.

You need to create this path!
and after you have pushed the startbutton there should displayed some isnstruction... can you see that?
after you have pushed the startbutton you need to wait some secound until the video is starting

hope with that it should work!
and really hope for feedback

I don't see a star button and all of step 3 does not show...it is cut off down the middle. I opened it across my network on a machine with a wide screen monitor and step is visible but I don't see a star.

I'm receiving the same error as johnsmith3x.
And yes, the text files are in the correct path.
But why do you force a static location for the textfiles? Use relative paths.

To Confused Beta Testers:
They seem to be having some trouble with explaining what you are supposed to do.
In order to get it to work, put the text files in C:\Temp\Tasks\
Open the program, select story, press start, it then loads a webpage (from the textfile) and lets you play the video that is links to. If you choose X amount of days / X amount of teases it will lock you out for X hours until you've waited the correct amount of time.
If you get locked out simply hit the buttons on the top right (I couldn't complete the task) and do this till you run out of lives. The program closes, re-open it and you can pick again.
Easy / Medium / Hard don't to do anything if you pick story, choose random if you want to play these difficulty levels.
To Author:
You might want to look into XML Parsing rather than plain text files, though that's just for neatness.
Also directly linking to the video would probably be better than the entire webpage loading inside IE's environment. I had to install flash player 10 for IE before I could get them to work even though they play fine inside chrome.
Creating the directory %APPDATA%\TheTimer\Tasks\ might be better than C:\Temp\Tasks as well, in addition to moving the files automatically. Not sure what you're coding it in but its nothing too difficult in most languages.
It also seems like the wait time is random as well, directing me to google.de, which is odd.

So can someone summarize what this does? Do the video get a beat over them?

I had trouble downloading
the ZIP file that was used to extract it.
I got a warning error
can you recommend a safe free zip file extractor that would open this file?

It's not Zip, it's in 7(-)z(ip) format.
Use 7-Zip (
http://www.7-zip.org) or WinRAR (
http://www.rarlab.com/)

At first thanks to nihlus for his text^^ as i mentioned my english sucks so that is a real help to explain the tool^^
I will use relativ paths in the future... i was just lazy
xml sucks
guess textfiles sucks as well...
both do the same^^ so no problem at all^^
@slavejack
you have the different views because i developed the tool in vb.net. The userform (the game) can just as big as your resolution is. I set a size of 1250:1040 hard
is your resolution smaller than the game looks like in your first pic because vb cut just to fit in the right size...
I will do a dynamic sizeer in some minutes
i have used 7z to pack the content...
this should work.
@nihlus
i thought a nice ass would be displayed during the breaks... hmm i will check on this^^
thanks for the first feedback^^

Hi there
To me the "storymode" sounds more interesting than the "normal" modes. Playing random videos and adding tasks to them (including something like "wait 1 day till you start your next tease!" could be easily done with TeaseMe too. Although the player could more easily "cheat", ignoring that instruction by just starting the next tease the next minute. In your program he would know the possible links and tasks but had to cheat "outside the program", because of that timer.
I love the creative energy here that produces more interesting development ideas and little programs. So good work and good luck with your interesting project.
Just a small suggestion... ignore it, if you want: I couldn't help to ask myself if we could "join forces" somehow. I did my "own thing" with TeaseMe too instead of trying to help one of the other projects (e.g. Sexscripts...). It was just luck that Takenaga took over and realized these new features and suddenly i had the program, which i wanted from the beginning.
