if you were pretending there was a mental chastity device on you, would it be cheating per se to set out following a chastity tease, then lapse into stroking without ruining?
Or, as long as you didn't ruin, it may be okay.. >.> <.<

Yes, it's absolutely wrong. I think you should reconsider the potential effects that it might have on your soul if you stroke in a chastity tease that requires you to wear a full metal belt. Imagine also all the people who will have their feelings hurt, all the Mormons who will look away in shame, and all the kittens you will kill if you break the rules that the tease wants you to follow. Hopefully someday you will realize the consequences of your actions.
