I need some technical advice.
Once or twice I've had the idea that messages aimed at my PC might have come up on my daughter's.
Take for instance empflix. Sometimes popups come out asking if you want to chat with some girl in your home town.
More innocently, I was using a music program and my daughter, in a different room told me that she'd seen a message asking permission to play music on her PC.
We're both connected wifi over the same modem.
Can these things happen?

They should not.... Your browser is PC specific, however depending on the setup, somy music players might have the ability to link pc's, however it is unlikely.

Unless you have specifically asked to share something over the network, you should not share anything. Check the settings on the music player to see if there is some kind of sharing feature.

If I'm to tell you any more, I really need more specifics, like OS, what programs, network setup and so on.

If you want to have full peace of mind, go into your control panel--->Click Network and Internet--->Network and Sharing Center--->Then Homegroup and Sharing Options. In there you can change what gets shared with other computers on your network. Just uncheck all boxes that say say to share, and make everything password encrypted. She won't get anything from you at all.
