Hard Drive Shortage due to floods in Thailand

Hard Drive and related component factories in Thailand have been damaged in the flood; and hence there is a worldwide HDD shortage. Prices in US have jumped up by 30-50%.
If you were planning on getting a HDD in the near future, grab one if the prices havent shot up already in your corner of the world.

I suspect that like every disaster that strikes the far east.
And every where else.
Profiteering will occur, then the price will fall back when stocks are not selling.
And it is realised that the deficit in supply is smaller than the scare mongers purport it to be.
In fact I hear that this that and another will be in short supply because of ???????.
Tea Coffee Rice . .....
In the current climate of doom and gloom many things are dropping in price because stocks on the shelves don't put food on the plate.

But in this case, its not greed, but a case of supply and demand. The factories have been badly hit. Yes, the factories will eventually be rebuilt, but it will take time.

I remember memory price hike because of a glue factory fire.
Prices came down very fast.
Be patient.

yeah one of my 500 gigs broke and the other one is clicking...my gaming days are over until q1 or q2 when the hardrives are back down to 80 bucks for a 1.5 tero
plus my new processor is overheating while idaling so i need to get a liquid coolant system, its a hybrid between liquid and air, i can sitll play a few games that i have installed but if the hardrive crashes my pc days are over til q1 or q2
