New Forum: Serious Business

I propose a new forum (or perhaps subforum) titled "serious business". This forum would be for discussion of weightier matters which may require much longer and more technical posts than the average in the "all and everything" forum. Topics allowed in this forum would be things such as politics, new developments in science, discussions on the latest technology, ethical/philosophical discussion, etc. My rationale for this is twofold:

1) Tempers can sometimes get a bit out of control when discussing certain topics - some examples where this might happen are http://www.milovana.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7801 and http://www.milovana.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7837

Moving serious topics such as these into their own forum would perhaps make them easier to moderate if things started to spin out of control.

2) I've been noticing in chat that there are quite a few "geeks" here - we love discussing these things, it gives us nerdgasms. Having a forum for these types of discussions would mean we wouldn't have to bother people who aren't interested with thousand-word posts or spamming chat with a bunch of math no one else understands.

Thoughts?

The other nice thing is that ultimately, the dramatic topics are lost among the fluff, and tend to fade with time. Tends to provide a buffer zone for people who take things harder than others.

Hmm...I hadn't thought of that. Oh well, guess it will teach me not to come up with ideas right after I wake up :P
