the five most viewed teases have an average rating of 3.2...what makes them so popular?

and a follow up...are views more indicative of a good tease than ratings?

I am going to suggest that the teases that are Most Viewed might be really good, or they might be a few years older, or they might have a particularly appealing name or thumbnail. So take that as you will. All you can say for sure is that they have been viewed more times.

to gain 380 thousand of views in 3 months the good thumbnail is not enough. That means some users viewed it several times.
And yes, some are simply old. For example "The house of tease" is nothing special, but it's one of the first flash teases here, so if you search for flash, and decide to start with the older ones, it'll be one of the first teases you click on. Thus, lots of views.

I actually suspect that part of the reason for the low ratings is that there may be a bug in how the ratings are calculated for flash teases that were published before users had the ability to rate them. (Those who've been around the site awhile will remember that for a long time, you could not rate flash teases). I find it hard to believe that House of Tease 2, for example, really has received an average score of 2.9.

Actually house of tease is an interesting case..
because it has multiple paths and was an early tease a Lot of people,
me included had it on their favorites.
Remember flash teases were actually rated how 'good' they were by number of views
You could NOT vote on them
for a very long time...
so older flashteases tend to have lower ratings
There are of course exceptions..
I often use Most viewed for finding the best teases..
the rating system is good but has some flaws to it..
so think of it like the show american idol... the judges rated it low... but the fans put in a lot of votes...
which you prefer... is up to You!

Ah but isn't the rating system inherently flawed on this site, you see these 1 page advert teases with a rating of 1.0 but that is still a rating nonetheless for a tease that is effectively spam 
....flash teases seem to gather more views solely because they are flash based teases and the interactivity is a major draw ....all seems a bit muddled to me
