I feel like this might be a question most of us have? Why is the site named Milovana?

It is translated "Mistress" from some language. Don't remember which.

I believe it might just have been the owner of this site's decision.

I always wonder why...seems reasonable and unique enough in the global sense.

I just google translated it, and Milovana is Serbian for 'stroked', so perhaps it's a different language/doesn't mean mistress/google is wrong :P

Never ever ever trust online translators. To start with, in most languages 1 word can mean different things depending on a context and form. Second, google has very poor dictionary for a smaller languages. And third, it's partly filled by the users (as wikipedia), thus sometimes not very accurate, or inaccurate at all.

'cause I don't care for hippos, but I like cats. And I love catboys (they're like regular guys but with cat ears- occasionally a headband). So adorable and/or hot.
Incidentally, according to wikipedia (though Nezhul is right about its reliability) June 18 is Milovana in Slovakia (named for a saint, I think- I don't quite understand though).

A coincidence, I'm sure.

that is exactly the reason for the frequent uses of latin.
the meaning will never change.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I felt like this should not remain unanswered.
The word "milovaná" is Slovak for "lady, mistress". It was originally intended to be the name for a PCM-like program that I was planning to write in 2005, but when that didn't happen, it became the name for this site instead.
