There was recently an article in Psychology today:
http://twitdoc.com/upload/nikkishaff/ps ... may-16.pdf
Now, the article is total trash and makes mockery of the scientific method; but I was wondering how people feel about the attractiveness of black women in general.

You can find beauty everywhere. No idea, how this guy made up his numbers or why he decided to even waste time on a question like that. Probably he got dumped by his black girlfriend, because she couldn't take his ugly face any longer

In my personal opinion I agree with the topic that black women tend to be less attractive on average. This does not mean there aren't any attractive black women it just means I am not personally attracted to them. Of course I find some black women attractive but on average I personally find caucasian women to be the most attractive to me.

I didn't read that link but I like all women. IMO black women have better curves and that's more sexy to me. No idea where the guy lived but he obviously hasn't spent much time in Atlanta. There are tons of smoking black women in the south.

In societies were women are selected based on their beauty they get more and more physically attractive over the generations, in societies were it is more about sex it sexual energie that get to grow, and in societies were mariage is pure family arrangement it is passiveness that grows and beauty goes back espacially if the women are vailed and/or physical beauty disgraced.
there for as in most black societies it is more about human interaction that choosing the hotest female to spend life with, attectiveness hasn't been a selection criteria. But this tendency is fading away in the USA were blecks have absorbed the whites culture, and you can notice that black americans are more attractive that africans were white people are more infuencal.
As for men, for those who read the article, they are less different because what a woman need or what a father wants for his daughter is always a reliable man in any culture.
So for those who might see any offend in may saying they can be sure they are wrong because if with women are more attractive it is because white people don't really care about the inner of their women but sticks with appearences.

You make a compiling case and I agree with many of your points but being a white person myself and Americian I have to disagree with the last one.
I'm not sure if you were over generalizing white people or white Americians but here's my opinion form the perspective of both.
I think it's fair to say that in general all Americans have it better than most when it comes to getting what we want or finding happness. At the very least our arrogance allows us to think that we do. My own opinion ofcourse. With that said I can say with some confidence that we tend to look for the best in our partners in both personality and beauty. Not so much one over the other.
How ever I will concede that our devorce rates here in America tend to favor your opinion more so than they do mine.

My analysis was about people world wild, except for my exemple comparing blacks in the USA and in Africa, with was necessary to isolate culture from race, and to be more precise i was talking about general tandancies considering the last few thansands years and i was not talking about a specefic place at a specific time, and specially not talking about individuals; as on that level the whole analysis would be ridiculus. Tastes do change white time and even social level, as you can see a like between beauty and social levels.
And well miltiple partners can lead to neglicting selection as most poeple might fuck (and make a baby) once with someone they think is ugly, but when you can choose only one you get more selective, so maybe white american wilkl lost their beauty in a couple hundred years

So basically your theory is, that black women are ugly, because black men aren't interested in beautiful girls?

I seriously doubt both.
First of all, there is not much sense in making up a theory, explaining an observation, that is as doubtful as this one.
And then societies, beauty ideals and so on changed quite a bit in the last "few thousand" years, and people always fucked around in secret against any social rules anyway. Thus evolution picking that up is unlikely. There really is no scientific basis for speculations like that.
It is far more likely, that culture had an influence on the subjective rating of beauty in that project. That project, where the data came from, is only based on Americans and thus only American interviewers where used. And it is 10 years old.

*shakes my head and sighs*
It's one thing to ask a question like...."what type of female is more attractive to you?" but to ask, "how people feel about the attractiveness of black women in general?" is *sighs again*...is ....well it's wrong. There I said it...so sue me!
I know we are all entitled to our opinions...I get that......well here's mine.......like or not....and yes this subject pisses me off!
When articles like above aren't written; when questions like was asked here aren't asked; when two people are standing side by side, one white one black and you say, "do you like her hair, the one in the red shirt?" instead of saying, "do you like the black lady's hair?"; when we stop looking at the color of the skin and identifying a person by it, THEN and only THEN will racism end!!!! THEN AND only THEN will the race wars stop.
Obviously it's not stopping with our generation and because the adults won't grow the hell up and see the person for the person that they are, and not for what color is the outer layer, they are teaching their children there is a difference between one and the other......our only hope is that our children's children will have enough sense to not see the color of the skin, but the color of the soul instead.
I apologize if I offended anyone.....and anyone that knows me, knows I'm pretty soft spoken.....but this subject......dear God when will people stop looking at the color of someones skin!!!!!!

.
I thought "love marriages" were a pretty new concept, before about 200 years or so, it was all about the marriage of families; for both white and black and others.
And in ancient times, before marriage, it was all about lust; the result of evolution. The past 2000 years would have almost no affect on evolution as it is so short a time frame.

IMHO, That is totally the wrong approach that the liberal section is trying to propulgate. Same with religion. I believe the correct approach is not to ignore and hide the differences, but to accept them. Like men accept women and women accept men. There is nothing wrong with calling a tall person tall, a black person black, an asian person asian, a white person white. If it is a distinctive feature, it is a distinctive feature. Let the differences become a part of the collective culture rather than trying to homogenize everyone.
