I loved the standard tease by Decker - Kayden's Maze of Lust - but it really seemed to me that it would be better as a flash tease instead of having to edit all the URLs. I went ahead and used the original tease exactly as is and rebuilt it as a flash tease (awesome editor BTW) and I tried to give Decker credit. However, I don't want to piss anyone off or anything. I tried to find Decker on the forum list but couldn't seem to find him to get the ok to publish.

What do people think about the ethics of redoing a tease? In this situation, am I cool? Any suggestions?

I'd first of all contacted Decker himself, as he's still active member of the forums.

Didn't cactus redo a bunch of the classic teases? I'm not complaining, just saying...

Personally, I say go for it, as long as you make a reasonable attempt to contact the author and give credit where it's due.

I think the thing to do in the future would be to send a private message and give it at least few days for a response. That being said, it doesn't bother me in the least.

I wonder, should it be in TOTM nominations next month? I kinda feel that it'd be too much to give a credit to someone other than decker, and this particular tease was TOTM already....

Also- there's a bug in the tease that needs to be fixed. It's at the page that reads "You walk forward just a few steps, then the path turns left, then right, then you have to choose right or left. Which way?"

The "left" button is linked to an incorrect page. This bug makes the tease impossible to finish.

Remakes shouldn't be up for nominations.
If they were, people could just keep republishing hoping for a better result.

Yeah my two cents says that totm for remakes is wrong - it's sending the wrong message to give kudos for non original teasing.

Thanks all for the advice. I have reached out to Decker privately tomake sure all is well. If possible id love to transfer the tease to his name. I certainly don't think totm would be appropriate- the original should get all the credit.

As far as the bug goes- does anyone have advice on QAing these things? This was my first use of the flash editor so I am still getting my feet wet.
