Off course smoking is not something that'd ever be a deciding point in any relationship.
But, honestly, would you prefer a partner to smoke or not? Or you absolutely TOTALLY don't care?
Please, understand the question right. I'm not asking "does it matter for you if he/she smokes to date her/him?"
I ask "Would you be happy if your partner stopped/started to smoke, or maybe you don't care?"
Oh, and set aside concerns about health too. We discuss esthetic part of the problem.

I was a long time smoker,
Until I gave up 13 years ago.
I have no worries if people smoke or not.
I can appreciate that there are situations when smoking can heighten an experience.
My major moan is that somebody should never be encouraged to start smoking,
For any reason whatsoever.
But when they do it is their prerogative.

i've known a few smokers and they are awesome people. However, I totally agree with Les, no one should ever encourage someone else to smoke. (I chose the last option.)

What kind of people are they - is not the matter. Smoking doesn't affect character that much.
However I must say I'm impressed - pretty healthy society we have here )

I stopped smoking years back myself, and while I have nothing against smoking in principle, I must admit that I PREFER my partner not to smoke - simply because it quite literally stinks when you're not smoking yourself.

Except for an occasional cigar to go along with my drink, I don't smoke.
However, what I don't like the how the United States has become the Nanny State allowing all these sanctimonious groups to tell me how to live my life and tell me what is good and what is not good for me.
First, it was smoking, now its junk food. What next.
We need a little Darwinism the U.S.

I thrown up smoking 2 years ago when I started meeting with my nosmoking girlfriend (when I write it ex-girlfriend).
First she doesn't wanted me to smoke when I was with her especially when we planed something what involve kissing

.
After some time I decided to throw that shit completly and I managed to do that.
But I will be hypocrite if I tell that I don't tolerate smokers becouse I smoked as well.
I don't care if my girlfriend will smoke or not she can also smoke in my presence but I expect that she will no smoke right before I kiss her becouse I don't see any pleasure in kissing ash-tray.
