Timed Key loss

Darkstar's recent trials
With sending his keys by mail

What if you purposely sent your keys to an address that does not exist!
So you have to wait for it to be returned!
(and hope it is)
This could be an interesting way of doing a time lock on your
Chastity keys

Now to make it a good bit of time
It would help to post your keys to anouther country
fairly far from where you live.

The first and most obvious problem
is how do I know if my keys will be returned?

I did a search and could not find this address
so I might send a normal letter just as a test

aviddrummer wrote:doesn't oversea mail take longer to get there? So it has to get there, realize there's no working address then make it's way back to you.
Actually the longer time is why I was trying to find a non-existant Overseas address
It could be 2 months until you get your keys back!
I picked india because I think you might, maybe have a desent chance at it being returned to you.
aviddrummer wrote:I don't really trust mailing a key to anyone that's why if I want a timed release I'll mail two separate letters to myself if one gets lost I can count on the other one (Takes about 3 days or less for it to get back to me).
3 days does not sound like very long, although I do like the idea of sending two letters.
And Just think about poor Darkstar who mailed BOTH his keys away and will not know for sure if they arrived safely for a whole week, and IF they do arrive safely then he gets 60 days after that! :w00t:
(Oh and he has to wait for them to be returned by mail too!)
aviddrummer wrote:Another way I like to lock my key up is a program that locks my desktop dvd drive so I can't get into it. If I put the key in there I can set the release to whenever I want it to be open again. This way seems the safest
Never heard of such a program? what is it? is there a link? This sounds like an intresting alternative.
Would like to hear more about it.

But seriously does anyone one know a good place to send mail to that would be reliable on return?
(Or does someone work for postal service?)

Check out http://www.mykeysafe.com/ they sell safes (and give the instructions on how to DIY) that can be un/locked by someone else online. They also have a site where you can manage this and even submit to a computer "Strict Mistress."

Crazy stuff. I read a lot, but I'm too chicken. Enjoy!

The idea of the safe sounds intresting
but I could not find a link on thier site for
the actual Physical safe that lockes up
Do you know that too?

Also it said that the safe costs $550
which is a good bit of money for me
So I would have to wait on that idea.

I was lucky because Dongeon Delights sells such a wonderful CB at only $100

Also- am still wondering about the lock the coputer DVD drawer
Still hoping to hear how to do that.

http://www.timelock.rules.it/

Easy to use, nice features in free/trial version - could get better with the full version but I have not yet tried that. Affordable, lots of options.

I know that's why you would need to know what places would return your mail (Coutries)

I am really sorry about the situation Dark, hope
they key do get mailed back to you via return mail.
Otherwise it's bolt cutters next to your cage - - Eak!

But I was wondering , perhaps your keys will be returned to you a Dark
And that's what got me thinking
about mailing it to a address your key would be returned back to you.

I thought of india because I did once mail something there to someone I met online
It took 3 months just to get to her.
Imagine the return mail time, Lol!

You can DIY, the instructions are part of the site where you use the safe, after login, here:

***BUYER BEWARE!***The keysafe sounded like a great idea to me so I saved and bought one through lockedinsteel. I also found a willing keyholder/controller (via keysafe81.org/ ...on links page). This was January 8, 2010. In Feb & March, after several politely composed, unanswered emails, I thought they ran with my money. I eventually got a reply in late March as they seemed to be wasting time, saying that they were working on it, avoiding my inquiries of ("Hi. Just hoping for an update on my keysafe. Thanks!") emails, but they obviously forgot about my safe order. This went on and on and on... 2 months, then 3 months... I eventually got my safe... in MAY, over 4 1/2 months later with their claim of 4 week lead time, possibly up to 8 weeks!

Then their advertising was wrong, stating they included all hardware with it. I got my safe and it did not have a cord to hook to my computer, so I emailed them again. After another 8 unanswered emails and another month, I received an email stating the cord was not included, even though their website claimed it was.... but it was available for $40-ish at any electronics store.... and that they would change their website information.

Now I have my cord, but when I access keysafe, the site does not recognize the safe. I researched previous safes that lockedinsteel built for other people (on the keysafe site) and they did testing on those safes during the building stages, which apparently they failed to do on mine (there are pages that show 'testing' stages on safes, but mine showed no testing before they shipped it to me. My only conclusion, since they haven't answered my last 12 emails, is that they failed to test it to see it was in proper working order before they shipped it.). My safe still does not work today and I have not heard back from them on how to fix it, what to do, what else I need, options, why they didn't test it before it shipped, etc. So I basically wasted over $600 on a $50 safe ($550 safe+shipping+the $40 cord)! I also lost not only my potential keyholder, but credibility from Her as well as others because I was never able to produce a working safe for Her or anyone.

I would never buy anything from lockedinsteel and would highly recommend anyone from doing so. I'd be happy to retract my statement if they can make this situation right, fix or replace my safe without any more cost to me, answer emails in a realistic amount of time (or at least have the courtesy to explain delays. I am very understanding & patient.), stand behind their product, and at LEAST PRETEND to care about their customers! But they have continually been uncaring and unprofessional in taking care of me, not standing behind their product, etc. I know there are some that probably have had better luck than myself, but lockedinsteel is a company I choose not to further solicit and will recommend against them until this issue is fully resolved.

p.s. There ARE other options for those wanting a keyholder. Some you have to pay, others, not. Try http://www.keyholderfinder.com

Not sure here, but my postal friend says that many countries today hold or destroy foreign mail if there's no valid address. I think it's a customs issue as well as one of $$ practicality (or possibly terrorism?). But I'd hate to see your only means of release being destroyed! :yikes:

She did state that addressing an envelope to yourself inside your envelope to a postmaster would prob be the best bet.

Example: Send your letter to a US postmaster, who will in turn (hopefully) open your letter you sent with the envelope inside (with key) addressed to yourself, then he'll send it back to you... if you include the right amount of postage. Include minimum postage for the longest, slow-boat way of that letter returning to you! ;-) You can view US postmasters by city here: http://www.usps.com/postmasterfinder/ I'm not sure how this method will work internationally, but it works domestically. Care to give it a try and let us all know?

Dark.... you know She's messing with your head, right? ;-) Or even better, your HEADS! She has the key. What a mindphukk and exciting Domme! Lucky guy!

EDIT: Just read you changed to a combo lock, Dark! :-( Sorry things didn't work out with the keyholder/keys.

And of cause my program http://ananke.kenai.com/ (still lacks some documentation though)[/quote]As I understood it doesn't encrypt the file or anything, just holds the link for you and reveals it when the time comes? Or am I wrong? If I'm right, than what's the point? I will know where my file with the code was from the very beginning...

Also what is Commands\obey buttons do?

The program seems really small. Can you give a short overview on how to use it? ;-)
