Teasing and Prostate Health

Recently I have been showing symptoms of prostatitis, and was prescribed some medication. The plan was that I would be on the medication for two weeks, and if it wasn't working, then I would have to go on a second medication that would unfortunately affect my sex life for a month.
Naturally, my brain went straight to "I'm gonna have to hold out for a whole month," in a be careful what you wish for scenario! My ex and I had often joked about me holding out for that long, although the longest she made me go was 13 days. I'm sure she would have been amused by the latest predicament.
I'm on the second medication now, but it doesn't seem to affect me, so I'm not sure what the doctor meant.
But, in doing some more research, I read that prostatitis can be caused by "prolonged sexual excitement without ejaculation," and that it is inadvisable to hold back ejaculation to prolong sex. So for now, no teasing and no edging for me :/ . There's a concept, denial from tease and denial heh.
Does anyone have a related experience?
