Question for the Dommes: What happens when Dommes get old ?

Am I correct in assuming that physical allure is important for Dommes ?
If so, what happens when they get old and the allure disappears ? Would people like Sophia still have that power in their 50s ?

For a good domme - or for a truly devoted slave - it doesn't matter. There is more to it than physical beauty. The best dommes don't need to rely on it at all.

Most of Sophia's allure is clearly with her mind - look at how polarized people's responses are to her posts. That has nothing to do with her looks but the impact she has with her thoughts and comments...
I'm assuming you are fairly young? is 50 even old? From my experience many guys have a thing for a domme who is substanitally older... Some variation of the Oedipus complex I would imagine...

Oh, I did not mean to say its all about looks, or 55 etc is too old. Hope I did not offend anyone

I'm not young (35+).
I'll try to explain my chain of reasoning.
I assume femininity is a required ingredient, as the guys are not off to being getting dominated by other guys. And yes, looks are not the only requirement as has been pointed out.
If femininity is a required component, then its not too wild to assume that age comes into play. So then the question is whether pre-menopausal women affect men differently then post-menopausal women. Whether post-menopausal women have the same kind of power as before.

If you're dealing with an online relationship, than aging wouldn't change a thing. As long as the woman is just as sexually interested and dominant as she was when she was younger, than the power remains.
For an offline, real life, physical relationship...it would be naive to say that physical attraction means nothing. For example, a lot of those women in that listen to your elders tease are nasty looking old hags. Every session would turn into...
Her: "One second while I go get my teeth!"
Me: "Uhh...where did the viagra go? I won't be able to get it up without drugs."
P.S. I'm not saying that there should be no teases featuring nasty ass old hags. Some people might be into that, and it balances out against the other teases that feature girls that look so young you question how far through puberty they've gotten.

Some guys are going to like older women, some aren't.
Some guys are going to like younger women, some aren't.
I don't think age really has all that much to do with it really. It's attraction and desire that are key.
So for the Dommes, I'm not so sure all that much really changes. There's still going to be willing subs out there for them.

My first thought was I have every intention of being a dominant woman well into my 90's. If I have to discipline a sub with my walker, that is exactly what I will do, and he/she will adore me for it.
My second thought was, that the appeal of this special kind of relationship goes so much further than skin deep. Do you think that every sub out there is physically attractive to every Domme? Probably not, but their beauty comes from within and in their service to you.
So as long as the sub has the strength and will to serve, there will be a dominant woman out there ready to train them into perfection.

p.s. Might want to keep the "LifeAlert" pendant close by though in case someone falls and cannot get up.

An emotional bond forms, that is much more important than just the physical layer. You begin to enjoy that persons company, and their touch, their smile, their presence.
I don't think age has a lot to do with it, besides, as they age, so do you. An important thing to keep in mind.
I should have added the caveat of "new subs". Once a person has become attached to another one, then looks etc become much less relevant

There are going to be shallow people in every relationship category of relationship. It's always sort of struck me as odd the intense focus that the (straight) female dominate culture puts on appearances. (At least to me, a semi-outsider) Seems like female submissives want to be desired (while still being owned, even if that desire is for objectification.) while males want to be despised. At any rate, in both cases, greater emphasis is placed on the appearance of the female rather then the male.
Then again, my tastes in women may be suspect: I've always found ~early 1940's era Margaret Hamilton to be rather attractive.
edit: Seems my typing skill has eluded me today.

The wicked witch of the west? Is it the exotic look of the green skin? The all black outfits? The pet flying monkeys? The cackling laugh?
So many sexy aspects...

Confidence is sexy. And she has a certain unapologetic confidence that she carried herself with. Recently I saw some production stills of her sans the makeup and I was somewhat floored. I'm actually using this:

Not that I would say no to a good cackle and proper accessorizing, however.

First of all, you're seriously underestimating the longevity of attraction-- 50 is nothing. Sigourney Weaver is 60 and I've heard more than once attestation of her desirability in that new blue man group film. :)
A 50 year old me might attract a slightly different group of people, in the same way that if I dyed my hair pitch black, I'd tend to attract a slightly different group of admirers . But that's not troubling in the slightest. Rest assured that I will get whatever I want for the foreseeable future.
Life is finite. The ultimate answer to "What happens when dommes get old?" is the same as the answer to "What happen to non-dommes when they get old?".
They die, duh.
But, while I'm here, the world is my amusement park.

Sigourney Weaver would have no trouble controlling and toying with me. I live in hope.

Personally I was severely disappointed in the decision to add voices to the characters to be more "commercial." They should have stayed true to the original Blue-Man group vision.
