Contrary to what some may think, she's actually quite the down-to-earth person. Can't hurt to try to talk.

This is a good thing to keep in mind with most people you meet online (especially in somewhat...specialized niches such as this) is that all you're seeing of a person is a very small glimmer of their real personality. Despite what first appearances may indicate, when approached in a different context a persons persona may be different.

(Take me for example: Online I seem like an arrogant jerk, but in real life, well, I'm still sort of an arrogant jerk, just less so.)

If I remember correctly, the literary character of Heathcliff was a jerk, so at least you chose a proper user name.

Yes, I feel it's a rather apt user name. But, I must admit, the book version is significantly nastier then the movie adaptations.
