Censorship

Censorship is when someone in a position of power over you (typically a government) restricts your right to speech.
When a private individual or entity makes choices about what to display on it's own private resources, that's not censorship. If you come to my house, and start calling me ugly, I'm going to throw you the fuck out, and that's entirely within my rights. You wanna call me ugly? Do it in your own fucking house.
If you come to milovana, a private entity provided for free, then the people who own milovana get to decide what they want said in their house, and what they don't. You want to say something they don't allow? Go do it the fuck someplace else.

Adding on to what you've already said.....
Also, consider the freedom the administrators of this site have given all its members, as far as the intents and purpose of this site goes. Censorship doesn't even enter the picture. People need to take a step back and take a good minute to think about what they're gonna complain about before they do so. As much as the administrators of this site have bent over backwards to make us all feel at home here. It's NOT ours. We need to acknowledge that, and learn that there are going to be disagreements where in the end, the administrators are going to have the last word, whether you agree or not. Best advice i can give, is to suck it up and deal with it like the adults we're all supposed to be.

Amen to that!! And placing worthless teases certainly isn't adding to making a point other then the fact that apparently milovana doesn't censor because they're still up!!

there is indeed a big difference to pure blind censorship and making sure that certain rules of "normal" behavior towards one another are taken into account.

its a shock to see so much hatred being spouted in a webtease .. which off course doesn't fall under the description of a tease on the web.. (for said reason alone it could be pruned from the list).
Though i do feel its important to keep the free and open community as free and open as possible, it seems that this is quite too much for the rest to have to see, especially the great people working to keep milovana running (for free).
It may be a suggestion to have a simple and small user policy that would give you the right to remove such examples of aggressive behavior. "The community of Milovana is deemed to keep itself from using the forum or teases for the wrong reasons. this being to discriminate, hate or otherwise send out a message that does not belong in a civil society" ..
my thoughts are with you milovana moderators.. you know most of us love u for what u do..lol

Teases by user "hellome" were deleted, it feels a bit ironic to be censoring content calling us censors, but MistressPuma is more than welcome to present her criticism in the All and Everything forum which would be the correct place for it to be taken seriously.
Posting it as webteases, posting a total of six teases and posting one of them with a picture of Hitler clearly wasn't designed to inspire a real debate, but rather just to cause a bit of drama.
Thanks to everybody for your support, those who know me know that free speech is something I am very passionate about. I was even considering leaving it up there, but as soltari said, it really just isn't a webtease. So if you want to accuse Milovana of censorship and you wanna do it in the webtease section - that's fine, but what you post has to be an actual webtease. Otherwise post your criticism in the forums.

Posting in support of the Milovana admins.
I have no idea what the original posting that caused this issue was about, and have no need to know. Campico nailed it -- the owner of resources get to say how those resources get used. You agreed to that when you registered. Everyone is free to build their own site that says anything that isn't admissable here.

no no indy.. stay.. u did ur job.. as man of chat making sure normal human behavior (such as respect) are considered is your thing.. that not everyone can take either criticism or being slapped on the wrist for acting badly.. thats not your problem.. its a (according to some new but it probably existed as long as we humans were able to communicate as much as we do) problem with our modern society.. not the being able to say what u want.. the not being able to decide when you've said enough...
lets say that this is just your breakin in as a staff member.. u've earned your spores now.

I can't imagine that there would really be any question about Indy's concern for this community and for doing what's right. Especially considering the effort Indy has put into getting the chat to be an exciting viable part of the site recently.
I do not make any claims to speak for Seraph0x but he references freedom of speech above.
One of the most important components of that concept is that while you are free to express your own opinions, you are also responsible for what you say and need to be willing to accept ramifications of your words.
So, in the situation Indy describes, a ban from the site actually makes a great deal of sense and is a sensible, reasonable reaction to someone who's clear intent seemed to be to sow discord within what is otherwise a friendly, healthy discussion forum.
I think that it would be a tremendous shame if the outcome of one person's unacceptable actions was that a true friend of mine felt that he no longer belonged here.

Sounds like an attention hungry domme wannabe forgot what that little thing we call "Consent" means, stepped out of line, and Indy corrected her in the most polite, un-objectionable method possible... and she flipped out, got banned, and spammed the site in her rage that someone might, infact -not- want to call her Mistress and let her get away with anything.
Yawn.

u indy
Remember, boys: Dommes can be psycho drama terrors just as much as anyone else.

In a democracy, freedom to express oneself is paramount, and comes with responsibility. Fortunatetly Milovana is not a democracy. It has rules. Those rules are there for everyone to see and follow.
Good work Indy
Even if it were a democracy, I'd say that the people have spoken, on the subject... LOL
Indy, forgive me, I'm new to the forums, never been to the chat, but I've been around Milovana for a while now. I'll be the first to say that when it comes to the inter-personal relationships between people on this site, that I know dick... But it looks like, from your post and from the responses hence forth, that you just did what you had to do. Unfortunately a person in your position can't keep everybody happy no matter how hard you try. But I don't think you should leave for doing your job. That would just let the person responsible for this discussion win and we don't want that, do we?
