Milovana.com

I've been here a little over a year, and will soon be publishing my 50th tease, so I've been thinking a lot lately about what I'm doing for this site and, more importantly, what this site is doing for me.

I want to thank everyone in the Milovana community for the overwhelmingly positive response I've gotten from all 48 of the teases I've released so far. I am glad to know I have made so many people happy in some way, and the support of the community has been what has allowed me to keep going with these crazy ideas one after the other.

But I can't help but feel I've been spending too much time here. I've had an idea for a novel for over a year, but have not written a single usable page of it. All my creative energy has been spent... well, here. This is a great place to be creative and really write about what I love, but I don't think it's doing me any favors besides creative outlet.

So I've decided that after I publish my 50th tease, I am going to take an extended break from Milovana. I will visit only to run the Flash Tease of the Month and other Tease Contests (e.g. Halloween and Holiday). But after #50, I will not write or work on another tease until I have made significant progress on my novel.

This is why I have been doing the "shroom picks shroom" thread and the "shroom's Top 10" thread--as a sort of parting gift to Milovana and a weird way of getting closure. While I'm not saying goodbye forever, I do know that it will (hopefully) be a long time before I'm back again as a regular tease writer.

Obviously, I'm sticking around long enough to finish Teases #49 and #50, so I'll still be here for a little bit. I love this community and really think it's a great thing--just maybe not the best thing for me right now.

Good luck with the book Shroom! My husband and I have both started writing novels at different times but life (and playtime) always seems to get in the way...

If you don't mind, what sort of a novel do you have in mind? I'm guessing it's not about a dom male with a harem of submissive girls!

Focus on your future. Put your creative efforts into your book or other endeavors. It will pay off in the long run.

I suggest that you commit to posting an update on your progress here every two weeks. It may provide motivation and you could get some encouragement.

good luck. as a published author, my only advice to you is just to sit down and write the whole thing, then worry about whether it's good or not. or publishable.

Thanks for the support everyone. I've enrolled in a writing class for the fall; even though I've taken them before it'll be good to get back into it. I'm still focused on getting this novel done though, writing class or not.

And don't worry, 2 more teases are coming before I leave.

Just released my 49th tease. I'm also nearly halfway through the tease I intend to be Tease #50.

Doubts are going through my head right now as to whether I should really leave... but I knew that would happen. Who knows, though... after a little bit of being gone, I might come back in a less active form.

EDIT: OK, this tease I was planning for Tease #50 is such a pain to write... I think I'm going to postpone it indefinitely and just write something fun for Tease #50. What I'll end up writing, I'm not sure, but that means I'll be here a little longer. :P

The Liz Vicious series will be going on for a long time... though when I go on a break, so will it.

But it's funny you mentioned this, because I started on Tease #50 last night and it was, in fact, a Liz Vicious tease!

And #50 is published. I'll be sticking around to finish up my lists and do FTOTM but don't expect any more teases from me for a good while.

If I can finish this character sketch today and get another sketch mostly written, I might make another tease to celebrate my progress. ;)

No promises about either of those things happening though.
