Eat SPAM
"I made this recipe last week, and I made twelve new friends!" Baked SPAM® with Spanish SauceThere is no substitution for SPAM®.
Serves 6
Place whole SPAM® loaves in greased casserole. Melt fat, add onion, pepper, carrot, and seasonings; fry. Add flour and mix well; stir in stock, blend, and continue cooking until thick. Strain sauce, stir in jelly and lemon juice, pour over SPAM® loaves. Dot with additional jelly and bake in moderate oven (350 degrees F) 40 minutes.
Ingredients2 (12-ounce) cans SPAM® luncheon meat
4 tablespoons lard or other fat
1 small onion, minced
1 green pepper, minced
1 carrot, minced
pinch of nutmeg
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon tart jelly
juice of 1/2 lemon
