It happens from time to time (affecting everybody) and the only way to deal with it is patience. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, this also happens to me, mostly in the evenings. It seems to be fine after a couple hours, but the site is basically unusable during that period. I couldn't tell you why this happens, but it only started happening like two weeks ago, as you've said.

Nope... milovana sits behind cloudflare proxy.
It either gets slow because of legitimate users and bots with accounts (they have gave accounts to search engine bots, and these also harvest content for ai training, but I don't think bots always load site at the same time) or because Seraphox hosts milovana on a home server in a docker that also hosts other dockers, i.e. it could have stash-app and when he starts "generate previews and perceptual hashes" the cpu usage slows down the server :D
Could be he has a docker with torrent on same machine and if some torrents get a lot of traffic, it uses part of bandwidth of Milovana...
The real answer is - we can't know, only one of server admins can tell us why. But DDOS is not plausible :)
