You basically answered your question but haven't realized it: The ending has to make sense thematically and in terms of narrative with the rest of the video, instead of focusing on some fetish that the editor has or the editor thinks the audience has. Your poll then is irrelevant. An appropriate ending depends on what precedes it.

Look, as in any creative work, here a person has two paths - to create his own creative vision regardless of any framework and preferences of others, or to create a popular product that will meet the needs of a wide range of people, and through it become popular (in other words - mainstream).
