What happened to the streaming link?

I haven't downloaded Rar files since Limewire.

I’m sorry about that. The free streaming option used up more data than I expected. I thought it would be a quick and easy way to share things, but it would have been too costly.

Anybody who's downloaded this successfully could start a torrent. It'd be much appreciated and I'd seed it for weeks.

This is what torrenting is for, really.

The major difference would be that torrenting doesn't give anything back to the creators.

With sites like mega they give back to creators. I forgot the exact terms but was something for the amount of data you shared. It never appealed to me but could see why others might like it.

I'm trying FileDot never used it before so not sure if it is something I'd use to share with regularly. But when I tested it the 5 second delay to download was nothing and the download speeds were decent. Based on some of the other fileshare sites I have tried this seems to be the fairest to both the uploader and downloader.

PH offers similar rates per views but you would have to jump through all the hoops just to qualify. So any options available to CH Creators without all the PH restrictions should be explored and eventually supported.

I appreciate the download link, but that site is sprouting some serious flags from my virus scanner. Why not just put it up as a mega file like everyone else?

I don't think mega is fair to uploaders or downloaders. Their goal is upsells and mainly offering commissions for getting people to upgrade from free. Which is why they pay based on the amount of data you share not just the download. Which leads to inflated file sizes. I think they stopped doing this but when they offered me the partnership the main requirement was I had to upgrade to a business premium account to collect payouts. Which doesn't make sense for anyone only making one or two ch's a year and only looking for a coffee or two.

Personally I think the goal should be to find a simple solution that creators can use to earn what they might be able to earn on PH even if it is only per download and not per view. At least it's a step in the right direction.

While I understand you're desire to be compensated, and I'm just fine seeing various sources, I'm not privy to Mega over any other host.

However, I don't think a ten-plus sized split-Rar-download is the play.

No screens? Just a download link and a request for payment? Hard pass.

My decision to choose filedot over mega was time. In less then 10 minutes I set up my account and uploaded everything. To upload the same file to mega would have taken 1-2 hours.

The actual compensation is nothing but can maybe be something with the way you guys have your site setup. And is what I think should be taken into consideration. You already have a release thread that links directly to each release. If you guys collectively as the CH Hub chose a fileshare site to use, promote, and support. Now it's something.

Now over time those pennies will start to add up. Nothing life changing but when "New Creator" checks back 6 months or a year later it might be that little extra motivation and incentive to finish Part II.

This is why I feel fileshare sites that offer a little something to uploaders is a better alternative to torrents or mega. I'm open to suggestions. But I feel the goal of the community should be to find a solution that is mutually beneficial to both not just the most convenient for the downloader.

This is not me a creator trying to get compensated. Just me sharing a thought to potentially add some free incentives to attract new creators.

While I totally agree with trying to incentivize creation, I'm having troubles with the files as they have currently been shared to filedot. The rar format seems to have issues upon downloading. I've tried several times with different parts, but upon trying to retrieve the video file am told that part of the file is corrupted. I've also tried retrieving it using several online options as well, with similar problems. Really enjoyed the video when it was available for streaming, so would love to be able to download it. But it seems that this would be much easier with .mp4 files (or typical zip ones). But thanks for your work on this (and consideration of this change).
