Hi everyone,

I would really want to have an estime device which is sound controlled, however, those are expensive and reviews are also mixed. Building one from scratch is currently out of my electronic skill league.

Now I thought to myself, why not buy a cheap one e.g. the Weimob5 for 10 euros and replace the potimeter with a transistor which I hook up to a sound level, maybe with somthing like an LM386 inbetween, should it be necessary?

What are your thoughts in this approach?

honestly if you are thinking of modifying an existing anything, then a build from basics unit like the miditronic or really anything stereostim, should be in your ability range, i legit saw a really good stereo build done with lever lock wagos and superglue.
