VR tech question

Greetings sexy tech heads,

My question is simple, but hard to answer;
How do folks actually setup a PC connected VR headset, to discreetly watch/play adult content?

- - -

Details & context;
Spoiler: show
Been experimenting with various ways, thinking PC hardware would be the most flexible. But have quickly found it just isn't.
I have a wmr device, so most software/viewers/games I find now just seem to point to SteamVR.

My discretion preferences means I don't want Steam to share any sexy activity with friends & family, who can see both live activity & account usage history.
But don't want to disable this sharing for regular gaming, or manually change accounts/settings all the time.
I will inevitably forget at some point!

I have been through various VR links here on Milo, and in the wider web, non seem to cover this topic...

Anyone have tips on good software to find/view/run; videos, games & websites?
Would be much appreciated.

Stay Sexy!

Probably the best player for WMR is HereSphere, and it also allows to turn on timestamp server, so you can sync with MultiFunPlayer + Restim or with SyncPlayer (if you are into estim).

As for "sharing", you can simply open steam and click Steam -> Go Offline at start of your session.

Also check this resource:

Another alternative would be to create a nsfw steam account, and turn on family sharing with it, so you can log into it to use HereSphere from your main account (if you already bought it there)

I just checked and it seems HereSphere doesn't support family sharing, but you can always use free demo on 2nd account.

well i can give a bit of insight how i do it. im mostly using deovr and bigscreen

deovr can play most vr videos, but you need to have them downloaded beforehand. theoretically it also has a built in browser but that wasnt very practicable for me. the program itself is discreetly, but people that know the program know that everyone watches porn with it. so it still might be a bit risky.

my secondary choice is bigscreen. it can view everything you can have on your pc screen shown in a cinema environment. theoretically you can navigate within bigscreen and start vr content which will go vr fullscreen then. but my system is so buggy i dont get it to run reliably on every application. so you would have to play around a bit with that. bigscreen is also very discreetly, people wont know what your doing with it, as most people dont use it for porn (i think :lol: )

Still a bit lost.
If I got a VR headset I would want to be able to see what I would see on my computer monitor? Really don't care about VR or #D just wanting to plug and play. is that possible?
Thanks!

Unfortunately not, you literally have to project the single screen output into two specialised screens. Any headset has that requirement.
I assume you want PC connected, in which case 'bigscreen' mentioned above is the simplest way to do that, but it will take layers of software processing to get there.

Plug and play is setup as 2D for decades now, it'll be a while before it's included in everything at a 3D level.

There are dedicated headsets not pc connected though, you might consider those close to plug and play experience.

Steam client has on it's beta branch currently "private games" which will hide that you own the game and others seeing you playing the game. See https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/v ... -4D62-4966 (this is different from previous hidden games option)

With this you can hide your "deovr" for example which is known to be used only for porn :-D Steam has been lacking this feature for way way too long

Personally I use whirlwig / deovr or just stream directly from desktop using MPC-HC (2d-content). Also works with multifunplayer and estim directly from desktop. My VR setup is pico4 over WiFi using virtual desktop. Works great and is pretty much "plug'n'play" at least for me

I have a beefy PC setup and have no idea how virtual desktop works on lower end PCs but I assume you are ok, if you can stream and game over it too.

And yes, almost. See for example this annoying guy explaining how PCVR works with Pico 4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4GpgDW ... AndyMorphs

Be aware that multiple monitors floating requires something extra. I believe newest steamvr update introduced "floating windows" where you can have multiple desktops easily floating and/or applications

I personally recommend pico 4 at the moment due price and specs you get. I've been extremely happy with around 300usd price point even tho I have access to ~10kusd industrial grade headsets. What Pico has done is accessible for many people due the price and the specifications are "good enough". Not perfect but for the price... Enough
