I get why people use socks, in order to prevent cleanup. I do something similar, except I use tissues. I stroke and edge as normal then when I decide it's time to cum, just put some tissues over the head of my cock and stroke till I cum. Well, the dirty aspect seems to be the appealing one to me here. For simple clean up there are definitely easier and cleaner possibilites out there.
