How to make modern beat bar?

I'm just finishing my first project, very much an amateur's first attempt at making a cock hero.
So there's lots of room for improvement. I already have a beat edited and collected some scenes for a new sync idea I had, however I can't get to work without changing up my beat bar.

^This is how it currently looks. It works fine, I just think it looks a bit outdated.
Kinda gotten used to 'modern' beat bars with transparent dots, no thick black bar and thin waveform to follow.

Anybody know how to make those, or something similar looking?
Working with Adobe After Effects and Davinci Resolve at the moment.

The beat bar you're asking about looks like it was made with Beatmeter Generator, which is the tool I use for mine as well. It works really well, and while it is maybe a little fiddly to get used to in the beginning, it's also fairly easy to use and it is quite configurable, both with colors, sounds, borders, etc. It can detect BPM of songs for you, give you lines to snap your beat patterns to, makes it easy to copy and paste patterns and so on. I can do the beats for a full 30-40 minute CH video with it in an evening now, most of that time being spent deciding exactly what I want the beats to be, and potentially figuring out beats to match off timing in songs.
It exports all of the beats as an image sequence, which is easily imported into at least Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve (and probably most other video editors), and the audio comes out as a .wav file.

Damn, making a beatbar for a whole video in one evening sounds insane! I've sometimes spent the better part of a night working out a beat pattern for a single song, placing each sound individually, so the concept of that sounds amazing. I'll certainly have to try that out, thank you!

CYOA can take a beatfile and generate your beatmeter on the fly.
You can use css to style the provided beat image, but I wouldn't mind adding a feature for someone to use their own svg.

Is there a step by step tutorial for this tool? I'd like to give it another try.

If you're asking about Beatmeter Generator, there's a basic guide for getting started on the website where you download it. :)

Even though I would recommend Beatmeter Generator (because it’s free and easy to use) I think it’s limiting in terms of visual style you can achieve – it’s easy to spot a release that uses this tool (you can still do a lot with this software – it’s perfectly fine)
If you want more creative freedom there is a script for Adobe ExtendScript that generates beats based on audio amplitude that works on Adobe After Effects. I’ve found this tutorial on faphub discord:

Script is here:

Most people go with default shapes, but you can also do waveform style beatmeters with it, or replace the graphics with images of your own, so there is more flexibility than most people use. :) But yeah, it's usually pretty obvious.

Hi, I'm new here. What is "CYOA"?
I assume it's not Cover Your Own Ass or Choose Your Own Adventure, at least in the context of the comment.

I think it's both. Choose Your Own Adventure And Cover Your Own Ass if you want to win a game.

It actually is "Choose Your Own Adventure". See my signature.
It's a game platform that lets you script video/media based games using web technology. If you have beatfiles it will draw a beatmeter for you, you can change the appearance of a bar, etc.
You can have it be random or the same every game, you can do all kinds of stuff :)
