Yes, Diana Rigg in the Avengers and the female Batman villains were definitely early influencers, but if I am being totally honest, my first awakening came from a very strange source: this 1935 Disney cartoon featuring Pluto. I frequently would think about being captured, tried, convicted and punished by my female elementary school classmates.

For me, there was some movie I was watching with my family when I was maybe 8-10. I have no idea what it was. There was a scene where the camera is behind two women as they are in a room. Suddenly, they take off their dresses, which drop to the floor and you can see their bare backs, asses, and legs. That image was burned into my mind. My parents of course scrambled to find the remote and change the channel or turn off the movie ASAP.

I'd love to find that again, but I wouldn't even know where to start. It must have been a fairly mainstream movie because my family did not watch or rent many movies. This would probably have been late 80s or early 90s, but of course the movie/show could have been older. I'm assuming it was a movie because I don't think we had any TV channels back then that would have shown nudity.

These old movies definitely have more of a theatrical appeal and craft to them. The special effects in Barbarella are pretty cool to watch.
